Alb- Confindustry assess the substantial reduction in the backup of a great number of local industries to the process of Albania's EU integration. Based on the data driven by the comparative survey over 2010-2012, which was conducted on the representatives of the local industry sectors by Alb-Confindustry Research center, it results that the support of domestic producers to the integration of Albania into EU over the span of two years has aceragely decreased by some 27 percent.
The fall is more obvious in domestic industries that supply the internal market, particularly agricultural-food industry, beverage and spirits, construction materials, carpentry, and more. The representatives of the industry sectors producing raw materials for export mainly mine industry have expressed constant backup to the EU integration of Albania.
The main reasons affecting the increase of distrust and reduction of commitment of the Albanian production industries to the EU integration of the country are the disappointment about the failure of implementation of Stabilization-Association Agreement, and Trade Interim Agreement with EU, upgrading of competitiveness of products and services of EU origin with in the domestic market due to the policies adjudged as dumping with EU funds, and many others.
Reduction of support of local industries to the Albania�s EU integration process was very fast particularly over 2012, which as well coincides with the increasing difficulties of Albanian economy due to the financial crisis in the main trade partners of Albania, i.e. Italy and Greece.
